T-34 Mentor was widely used as a military training aircraft and originally derived from the Beechcraft model 35 V-tail.
The T-34 first took to the air back in December 1948 and was used by the U.S. Navy up until 1970's. Mentors are still used by some Army & Navy forces as a training aircraft to this day.
